In her second efficiency of the evening, Pink graced the American Music Awards viewers with a transferring tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John. The artist sang a beautiful rendition of “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” taking to the stage to flawlessly belt the excessive notes on the basic “Grease” ballad, which, after all, Newton-John famously sang as Sandy within the 1978 film. Though Pink wasn’t accompanied by any backup dancers and flashing lights like many of the evening’s different performances, the additional house allowed the track’s emotional energy and her voice to shine, and the tribute was made all of the extra transferring by the portraits of Newton-John that stuffed the display behind her.
While on the crimson carpet at first of the evening, the artist honored Newton-John, who died on Aug. 8. “She was an absolute icon, and in addition, she was a beautiful human being,” the artist instructed Entertainment Tonight. “I liked her voice. My daughter simply bought executed doing Grease in her theatre manufacturing, and he or she really helped me be taught the track.”
